Basics of limestone carving workshop – Monday 19 August

Many Medieval castles were built from limestone by stonemasons. Join local Macedon Ranges artist Dawn Robinson (  for a workshop on the basics of limestone carving. This class will start with some theory and an explanation of the rules for safety when working with the stone, which will be followed by limestone carving using rasps. Dawn will also demonstrate other techniques.

A parent / adult must be able to take an active role in guiding children under 8 years of age during the workshop.

This workshop conforms to the HEN event guidelines. Parents are responsible for their children at all times.

Ages: 6 – 10 years

Bring: Safety goggles (children will not be able to participate on the day without goggles), water bottle, old clothes and closed-toed shoes

Time: 10.30 – 12:00 on Monday 19th August
