The following activities offered by Brambuk Indigenous Cultural Centre and Absolute Outdoors are available at the Grampians Camp this year.
There is a limit to numbers for each activity.
BRAMBUK are offering four different activities on Friday 17 November, with a 10.30am start.
You can book one or more of these activities and are welcome to book all four if you wish to.
Each activity is $6 per person. If you wish to book for Brambuk activities, please send an email to Julie with:
- age if a child
- activity, for each person wanting to participate
If you book for an activity, please make sure that you turn up as we have had problems in the past with people booking and not turning up (which is why you now must book directly with Absolute Outdoors and pay at the time of booking, for abseiling, etc).
- Welcome to Country – Gariwerd Dreaming Theatre
- Didgeridoo Workshop and Cultural Talk
- Boomerang Throwing
- Bushtucker Tasting.
You can read more about Brambuk here www.brambuk.com.au
If you wish to book for these activities, please book each activity with ABSOLUTE OUTDOORS costs $50 per person per activity. We have had children as young as six years old join the beginner abseiling – it is up to the individual child and parent to decide age suitability for this activity.
- Friday 1.30pm – High Ropes
- Saturday 9.00am – Climbing and abseiling
- Saturday 2.00pm – Canoeing
- Sunday 9.30am – Beginner Abseiling
If you wish to join one of these activities, please ring and book with Absolute Outdoors asap on 03 5356 4556. You need to pay for the activities that you are booking at the time of booking.
You will then need to be at their office in Halls Gap ten minutes before the activity is due to start, wearing appropriate clothing including sun protection if needed.
The office of Absolute Outdoors is at 105 Main Road Halls Gap Victoria 3381
You don’t need to book paid activities to attend the Grampians Camp and many families are happy to hang out at the camp and go on bushwalks.
The children often like to walk or ride bikes or scooters into Halls Gap – there is a bike path from the caravan park to the town.
If you are organising a bush walk, please put details up in the camp kitchen, including starting location and time, so that other families can join you.
Please do not organise group activities at the caravan park without letting me know and getting permission from the caravan park manager as there will be a number of non-home educating campers and the caravan park also needs to cater to them.
There is a swimming pool at the caravan park – please make sure that you supervise your children if they are using the pool area.
The caravan park would like noise to finish by 10pm.
Please also make sure you are familiar with the HEN Camp Guidelines and that you stick to them
Please let me know if you have any questions about the activities or any other aspects of the Grampians Camp
