Experiential outdoor environmental education for families (Parents/Grandparents/Carers) & children 4-16 yrs.
Sessions have related explorations, activities, games, stories, construction, with time afterwards to relax, play & picnic in nature.
Week 1. 10th October.
Learn about microscopic living things living in our oceans essential to human health and solve some
‘jellyfish myths’ with Narelle. Meet Matt a local diver who will explore how we can help save the beautiful weedy sea dragons and other animals living in Port Phillip Bay.
Park opposite 506 The Esplanade, Mt.Martha North beach, 3934. Toilets onsite.
Week 2. 17th October.
Venue: George Pentland Botanic gardens Mel 100A F12. Gate 6 Williams St. Frankston.
Meet at ‘Koori’ Snake path & tribal totem poles, learn about cultural significance & local Aboriginal people, practice ‘snake safety’ whenwalking in our outdoor environments, Paint a rainbow ‘leaf’ serpent using traditional methods and techniques. Learn traditional tales.
Week 3. 24th October.
Be a ‘citizen scientist’ help create a wetland birds feather map of Australia with ANSTO & University of NSW.
Come on a wetlands wander at the catchment in Century Drive & along Balcombe Creek to find wetland bird feathers.
Meet outside 9 Century Drive, Mt.Martha. 3934. Mel.146.A8. Park on LH side of Century Dve & walk onto public reserve beside property.
Week 4. 31st October
Practicing Permaculture for kids @ JOTE Sustainable living beyond the vegetable patch.
Learn the secrets of soil. Dig for wiggly worms, be super snail snoopers. Plant Summer crops in the veggie patch. Help to make a scarecrow for our patch.

November 7th Melbourne Cup Day: NO ‘Natured Kids’ due to public holiday.
Week 5. 14th November.
Colours of the Rainbow.
Mornington Botanical Rose Gardens. Mel.145 G3. Enter Civic Reserve off Dunns Rd,
Cnr. Mornington Tyabb Rd. Mornington, 3931.
Stimulate your senses surrounded by 4000 fragrant & colourful roses. Extract colours
from petals to make a pigment picture. Learn how to keep silkworms as pets.
Week 6. 21st November.
Treasure hunt in nature at George Pentland Botanic Gardens. Come and collect natural items you can use to play
games. Construct a woven masterpiece with natural findings. Meditation in nature.

Your family’s registration in this program is complete once we have full term payment, text & the original, signed paperwork.
Terms and conditions:
Our insurance specifies ALL children who attend the program over 18mths must be registered. Due to the need for
staffing of this program & the progressive nature of sessions, casual attendance is not an option.
Commitment is for the full term.
Families can share their registration with other families in the event of ill health or mid-term holidays. Sessions are fully transferrable (ie. send another family to attend in your place on the SAME day you are absent to ensure correct participant ratio) however sessions are not refundable.
Adult participation is encouraged in this healthy and happy ‘natured Kids’ Junior Landcare outdoor education program
