Mission: To inspire lifelong connections with and care for nature via outdoor play, exploration and education in our local community.

Week 1. February 6th. Come on ‘Seashell scramble’, learn the role of these special treasures. Unravel ‘jellyfish’ myths & discover amazing sea creatures. Meet waterfront at Seaford Pier Nepean Highway.3198. Mel. 99. D3. Make shelly, sand art.

Week 2. February 13th. Yogalates in the Park. Beauty Park. Mel.100A C9. Opposite footy oval, Kars Street, Frankston 3199. Breathe fresh air & enjoy story-time under old majestic oak tree, Learn ABC’s of yoga for kids. Find & pot up acorn to take home.

Week 3. February 20th. Who’s in our carrot club? Learn how insects such as Ladybugs help us, come on a ‘bug hunt’ as we count the range of summer vegetables growing to eat! Venue: ‘Joy of the Earth’ Community Garden, at rear of 15 Joy Street, Frankston, 3199. Mel.102.F2. Make a potted vegetable to take home to grow in your own garden. Create a habitat for your chosen ‘bug’.

Week 4. February 27th. Come hiking through this mystical bushland, home to many creatures including magical ones! Make shelters & gardens for bush fairies, elves & pixies using natural items. Sweetwater Creek playground. Frankston. 3199. Mel.102 A7

Week 5. March 6th The Briars Community farm. Be introduced to 3 rare breeds of Heritage farm animals. Feed Cochin & Dorking Chickens & Berkshire Pigs. Mel. ref. 145.D11. 450, Nepean Highway. Mt. Martha, 3934. Pot up some 19th Century rare Heritage seeds to take home & grow in your garden. Play some heritage children’s games that have had a long & enduring history.

Week 6. March 13th Ponding for ‘creek critters’. Use a dip net to catch, examine and identify some aquatic macroinvertebrates. Venue to be confirmed. Make aquatic macro invertebrate from seed pods found on treasure hunt.

Week 7. March 20th Pure Peninsula Honey. See live bees busy at work. Learn beekeeping secrets, taste over 20 different local varieties of honey & make some ‘honey hand-cream’. Learn how bees benefit us & play bee games. 871 Derril Road, Moorooduc, 3933. Mel:146 K5.

Week 8. March 27th. Share ‘Easter egg hunt & Easter games George Pentland Botanic Gardens. Frankston. 3199. Mel. 100A F12. via gate b/w Argyle St & Victoria Parade. What is an Easter Bilby? Make sparkly ‘Easter food’ to attract Easter bunny.

Kids immune systems are healthier if they have exposure to fresh air all weather, all seasons! In the event of rain, activities run as scheduled. Please wear weather appropriate clothing, long pants & enclosed toe shoes (BYO water & healthy snack/ insect repellant/sunscreen brollies/coats/hats/gumboots for puddle fun).

Terms and conditions: Our insurance specifies ALL children who attend the program over 14 mths must be registered. Due to the need for staffing of this program & the progressive nature of sessions, casual attendance is not an option. Commitment is for the full term. Families can share their registration with other families in the event of ill health or mid-term holidays. Sessions are fully transferrable (i.e. send another family to attend in your place to the SAME session you are absent from to ensure correct participant ratio) sessions are not refundable. Adult participation is encouraged in this healthy and happy ‘early years outdoor education program.

Once paid, please text Narelle on mobile 0431791379, specifying program you are registering for, your names, children’s ages, allergies/special needs, also parent mobile & emergency mobile contact. 3. Please print off registration form, fill out with personal & payment details, ‘sign’ to indicate you’ve read & understand terms & conditions & mail via post to: Narelle Debenham, 20 Victoria Parade, Frankston, 3199. Your family’s registration in this program is complete once we have full term payment, text & the original, signed paperwork.
