SUPER SCIENCE EXCURSIONs for Years 5-10 – with QUANTUM VICTORIA on Thursday August 22, 2019
Children will get to use the State of the Art facilities at Quantum Victoria.
Grades 5-8 can participate in Lego Robotics challenges
Grades 7-10 in 3D Modelling and Printing
Grades 9-10 can investigate Materials of the Future with Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials and their use in commercial and biomedical applications.

Ages: Grades 5-10 (no exceptions unfortunately)
Location: 235 Kingsbury Dve, Macleod West, VIC 3085 (Housed in a school)
Cost: $30 per student (Heavily subsidised)
Time: 9:30 am-2:15 pm
Bring: Morning tea and lunch. (Please avoid nuts as it is a school premises.)
Please could you advise on registration if you have a Working with Childrens Check and are happy to supervise a group of between 15-25 including at lunchtime. Naturally, we would place you with your child’s group. (Siblings and other parents cannot stay but there is Bundoora Park nearby – see below.)
Special needs: If your child has special needs, you may stay with them if you have a Working With Childrens Check.
Numbers: Each group will have 15-25 students enrolled.

All attendees must read and agree to the HEN Event Guidelines. https://home-ed.vic.edu.au/guidelines-for-hen-event-attendees/ While you are delegating some authority, please ensure that your children understand that they need to respect and obey the instructions of the supervising parent for their group, in your absence. If your child has any behavior issues, please stay with them.
Parents with other children could attend Bundoora Park whilst the school aged children were at Quantum. It is a wonderful park with cafe, playgrounds, children’s farm etc. that would be most suitable for the parents with toddlers. It is only about 3 km away via Plenty Road and Kingsbury Dve.
