Narana Aboriginal Cultural Centre
Starting in September, I am starting a weekly nature study group at Narana (Aboriginal Cultural Centre) in Geelong; 1-3 pm, where we will observe/draw the indigenous fauna and flora and formulate questions to develop our sense of wonder.
Every Friday 1-3 pm. Taking place weekly except on school and public holidays.
Once a season (6/7 seasons) we will book a qualified Cultural Educator from Narana’s staff to answer our questions and tell us about the season as experienced by Wadawurrung people pre- and post-colonisation.
Narana are not charging us for the space in return for the cultural ed bookings, some weeding and our custom at the cafe, so the sessions are free. I will be the facilitator (Sophia) and encourage older children to be project- leaders for their own initiatives.
Parents will be responsible for ensuring the respectful and mindful approach our group purpose requires, lest the gift from Narana be revoked. Any questions firstname.lastname@example.org.
Best to be on my mailing list however because Narana have reserved the right to withdraw the space offered to us if they receive a paid booking on that day; also if I attend a camp or if i or daughter are sick, I will cancel if I can’t find a replacementLast updated on
