Woodwork, Gears and Solar Power Workshops

Friday 20th of April, from 9.45am

For children aged 5 to 12 (age range is a little flexible, younger students will need parental assistance)

Students Aged 4-7 $30 (building a dragster with gears)

Students aged 7+ $35 (building a solar powered jet or buggy)

These are hands on workshops where children are able to use the tools and do the work themselves. The children build working models to take home and keep.

Dragster – Work with wood and gears to build a dragster. For ages 5 to 7. Children in this group may need some parental assistance. This workshop runs from 9.45am to 11.30am.

Solar Buggy – Work with wood, gears, wheels, axles, a solar cell and an electric motor to build a solar buggy. For ages 7 to 10. This workshop runs from 11.30am to 1.15pm.

Sun Jet – Work with wood, gears, wheels, axles, a solar cell and an electric motor to build a sun jet (a model solar powered car). For ages 10 to 12. This workshop runs from 1.15pm to 3.00pm.


What to Bring

Lunch, drinks and snacks. There is a graased area outside so children can catch up, play or enjoy a picnic whilst siblings are doing workshops.

Appropriate gear for the weather (hats, sunscreen or raincoats etc.)
