I’m Jo, a registered teaching aide, tutor and Bachelor of science graduate, and will run free mentoring and academic support workshops each Tuesday. This will be a fun space for teen homeschoolers to meet each other, while working on any projects you might have (with guidance and advice from me), or brushing up on subjects like English, maths, science etc.

What does mentoring cover?

It’ll be different for each homeschooler since I’m sure you all have different interests, but for example it could be work related skills (ie resume, cover letters, how to land work placements) and guidance of personal projects & folios. I have a psych uni background so even wellbeing topics like managing stress, high expectations, perfectionism and much more.

What sort of subjects do you tutor?

I tutor students in a lot of school subjects (including VCE), mainly sciences due to my Bachelor of Science background, and also English & maths. Though no worries if you’re struggling in a subject which is different from these, i’ll help you navigate around resources and go through the material with you!
