 sp\;\n\nHEN is thrilled to offer members the opportunity to be part of MoA
 D NSW’s annual touring exhibition "Behind the Lines"\, all about politic
 al cartoons – a fantastic resource for both civics and media literacy ed
 ucation.\n\nKids will participate in a fully facilitated workshop\, includ
 ing collaborative\, hands-on activities to unpack the role of political ca
 rtoons and the techniques used to convey meaning. They will develop their 
 media literacy skills and explore themes of bias\, persuasion\, and how fr
 eedom of expression is exercised within our democracy.\n\nKids will:\n\n 	
 explore the role of the media in our democracy\n 	build media literacy ski
 lls by examining current political cartoons (viewed as a pop up 'art gall
 ery')\n 	construct a cartoon to consolidate their skills (with paper &amp\
 ; pencil)\n 	consider issues they are passionate about and how they can cr
 eate positive change.\n\nAfter the event\, families can visit the Queen Vi
 ctoria market\, &amp\;/or have a play with new friends at the Flagstaff ga
 rdens playground.\n\nAge &amp\; Price:\n\n 	$10 per child. This event is 
 aimed at kids in Grade 5 - Year 8 (9y-14y). At least one child per family 
 must be aged 8y-15y\n 	Young siblings (under 6y free ($10 per child). You
 ng siblings must sit with their adult &amp\; cannot disrupt the session\n
