 &nbsp\;\n\n​Join us for one or both online events hosted by the Immigrat
 ion Museum\, free for all HEN members:\n​From Vietnam to Victoria:\nThis
  45 minute event will commence at 11.30am. It's designed for ages 10y-12y\
 , but kids of all ages are welcome.\n\nMai Ho arrived in Victoria in the 1
 970s after leaving Vietnam as a result of the war. In this interactive vir
 tual program\, we will learn about her story through primary sources.\nKid
 s will experience:\n\n 	A retelling of Mai Ho’s story using objects from
  the museum's collection\n 	Exploring a series of paintings by Thomas Le t
 hat represent Mai’s journey from Vietnam to a refugee camp and eventual 
 relocation to Victoria\n 	Interacting with a museum educator by answering 
 questions and sharing contributions\n\nKids will learn:\n\n 	Reasons why M
 ai Ho left and her journey escaping from Vietnam\n 	About her time in a Ma
 laysian refugee camp and her experiences of settling into Australia\n 	Abo
 ut Mai’s contributions to Australian society since her arrival\n\nA work
 sheet will be provided\, to be printed ahead of the session\, &amp\; kids 
 will need pens or pencils.\n\nThis online session is supported with a pre-
 session activity program and follow up tasks.\n\n&nbsp\;\nSeeking Refuge\n
 This 45 minute event will commence at 1pm. It's designed for ages 14y-16y\
 , but kids of all ages are welcome.\n\nIn this online program\, we learn a
 bout personal stories of refugees and asylum seekers through the museum’
 s collections\, Australia’s immigration policies and UN Declaration of H
 uman Rights.\nKids will experience:\n\n 	Stories of displaced peoples\, as
 ylum seekers and refugees from the museum’s collections\n 	Presentation 
 of key ideas\, terminology and the process of seeking refuge in the Austra
 lian context\n\nKids will learn:\n\n 	Key ideas and definitions including 
 refugee\, asylum seeker\, internally displaced person\, human rights\n 	Ab
 out key institutions and legislation including UN\, UNHCR\, Refugee Conven
 tion\, Universal Declaration of Human Rights\n 	An outline of the process 
 for an individual who is seeking refuge\n 	About a range of people across 
 time and locations who have sought asylum to Australia\n\nFamilies will ne
 ed pens or pencils and paper to make notes on.\n\nThis program is delivere
