DESCRIPTION:Melrose (SA) Home Ed camp 2026\nA family camp located on Nukunu
  land in beautiful Melrose in the southern Flinders ranges.\nMelrose is mo
 untain bike central\, with approx 80km of single track trails in the footh
 ills of Mount Remarkable.\n\nThe trails take you into some truly special A
 ustralian landscapes and are spectacular and fun! The trail design incorpo
 rates a passionate love for nature\, dirt\, tranquility and adrenaline.\n\
 nFamilies can also enjoy nearby walks and visit the the Melrose Museum wit
 h an optional ghost tour.\n\nThe camp will be located at the Melrose Carav
 an Park\, with additional optional activities including mountain biking (g
 uided and training sessions available - see below)\, Melrose museum tour a
 nd picnic\, after dark history ghost tour\, or choose your own adventure t
 o explore the beautiful region.\n\nFamilies will need to book your require
 d accomodation directly with the Caravan Park Ph 86662060- options include
  powered or unpowered sites and a variety of cabin options. Unpowered site
 s are all unallocated\, and we have reserved powered grass sites 1-7 next 
 to the pump tracks so that we can all be together. There is a 10% discount
  on offer for our group. Please mention my name Nicole Brammy when booking
 .\n\nMountain biking activities will be provided by Over the Edge Sports.\
 nHigh grade well maintained mountain bikes can be hired for $65 per day di
 rectly with the shop\, however people are welcome to bring your own bikes.
  Please note though\, that prior to going out on the trails\, the shop/gui
 de will need to check over the bikes for safety and suitability and if not
  suitable a bike will need to be hired.\n\nWe have tentatively scheduled 4
  MTB skills sessions so far. Monday and Tuesday morning 10am-12pm there wi
 ll be 2 groups\, for beginners / intermediate / younger kids\, with older 
 / advanced kids / teens in the afternoon 1-3pm. It is important that bikes
  are fit for purpose and if you bring your own bike and it is deemed by th
 e instructors to be inadequate for the trails\, participants will either n
 eed to hire one\, or relinquish their place.\n\nFor those not so into moun
 tain biking we plan a tour and picnic day at the Melrose Museum\, date TBC
 .\nIf you haven't done it before we can highly recommend a trip on the her
 itage Pichi Richi Railway whilst in the region. Trips are available Sunday
  18th May\, and Saturday 24th May. Recommend booking well in advance.\nhtt
