MPavilion is Australia’s leading architecture commission—a cultural laboratory and technological testing ground where students can come together to engage, create and share.
The MPavilion Education Program offers students the opportunity to encounter first-hand the contemporary, experimental architecture of the MPavilion initiative. Located within the beautiful surrounds of the Queen Victoria Gardens, our inquiry-based program is FREE of charge, caters to primary and secondary students and includes both discussion and making-based session options. We aim to be as responsive as possible and sessions can be tailored to meet the needs of individual groups.
INQUIRE (60 minutes)
An INQUIRE session introduces students to MPavilion, architectural practice and big design ideas. Students will focus on MPavilion 10 by Osaka-based Japanese architect Tadao Ando as a subject for open-ended questioning and supported discussion.
This program is recommended for students from Grade 4 to VCE.
CREATE (90 minutes)
A CREATE session introduces students to the MPavilion initiative, contemporary architecture and big design ideas. Students will focus on MPavilion 10 by Osaka-based Japanese architect Tadao Ando. Discussion and inquiry are complemented by a hands-on design activity using materials and techniques derived directly from the MPavilion 10 design.
This program is recommended for students from Grade 4 to VCE.
