DESCRIPTION:Traffic &amp\; Road Safety for Homeschoolers\nLearning aims and
  outcomes:\nThe aim is for children to learn road safety in a broad range 
 of everyday scenarios by engaging in imaginative play.\nThe Kew traffic sc
 hool team engages in intentional teaching practices to extend children's l
 earning about road safety and build their confidence to become more indepe
 ndent road users.\n\nStudents will learn how to be safe on the road as:\n\
 n 	Pedestrians\n\n 	Cyclists\n\n 	Passengers in a vehicle\n\n\nThe program
  is run by a trained teacher and is developed in line with the Victorian E
 arly Years Learning and Development Framework and the Victorian Curriculum
  F-10.\n\nWhat happens in a session\nEach road safety education session ru
 ns for 90 minutes and includes:\na. 20-minute\, age-appropriate interactiv
 e presentation about road safety.\nb 10-minute guided walk around Kew Traf
 fic School to give the children an opportunity to practice their new knowl
 edge.\nc. 60 minutes of exclusive use of the Kew Traffic School track and 
 facilities to practice road safety. During this hour\, children can make t
 heir way around the track as cyclists (with bikes provided by Kew Traffic 
 School to suit all sizes and stages of development) or pedestrians. They c
 an also engage in imaginative play across the facility\, for example by ro
 le-playing as an emergency services person.\nAfter the program\, provide e
 ach child with a certificate of attendance and further resources to share 
 with parents and carers.\n\nNeed to know:-\n\n 	Kew Traffic School is full
 y fenced with a secure gate\n\n 	We will have exclusive use of the premise
 s during our time there.\n\n 	Bikes are provided on the day (with or witho
 ut training wheels)\n\n 	Children must bring their own well-fitted helmet\
