Dr Rachel Carling Jenkins has given notice of the following motion to be put to the Legislative Council on Wednesday 24/5
Come along to Parliament to sit in the gallery of the Legislative Council and hear Rachel’s motion debated.
Entrance is up the main steps and through the central door. Plan to arrive around 1.30/1.45 in order to get through security.
Children can come but there are strict noise rules. I will post links to the details of Rachel’s motion and visiting parliament.
We may not take anything into the gallery, not even a water bottle or for children a book to read. We may take a small notebook and pen to take notes and IF your child has issues such as the need for an object to help them sit still they may be permitted to take it in but we suggest phoning the visitor line to check on 9651 8911.
We may leave to get a drink or use the bathroom and re-enter at any time. Mobile phones need to be switched off or on silent. Bags and umbrellas need to be left in the lockers in the Vestibule but personal items such as wallets and keys can be taken in as long as any items are not large. In relation to the headphones for children with sensory issues, please alert the attendants and they will be able to assist.
Note that HEN is not campaigning against Safe Schools, that is a separate issue.
