OzGrav – Mission Gravity & Einstein First (Hawthorn) 12-16 years

Two programs, each running for 90 minutes with a lunch break between. $20 for the day (tickets required for students, supervising adults are free).

Mission Gravity

Mission Gravity! combines classic scientific modelling with immersive virtual reality. In this incursion, students will collaborate in teams to create a model of stellar evolution by collecting and analysing data from a virtual trip to nearby stars. Students will use the laws of physics and the freedom of virtual reality to learn about how stars change over time and the tools scientists can use to study stars.

Einstein First

Einsteinian physics underpins the modern technologies and devices that we use and depend on today, for example, mobile phones, computers, GPS, solar power, lasers, and medical apparatus. The aim of this project is to introduce the Einsteinian physics and open the students’ minds to exploring these concepts from an Einsteinian perspective.
