John and Joel, experienced chess coaches from Northern Star Chess Club will conduct some training on chess-playing methods and strategy. They will also conduct a tournament for our kids where we can expose them to playing in a competition setting where clocks will be used.
Playing chess improves logical thinking, analytical-abilities, memory, problem-solving, patience, amongst other things. Of course, we’ll also have fun learning and challenging ourselves playing chess. There will also be prizes!
All chess-playing equipment provided (pieces, boards, clocks), along with bikkies and a drink for our fantastic chess players.
