HEN @ Cook’s Cottage (5y-12y, CBD)

History comes alive at Cooks’ Cottage, with an interactive, fun and inspiring one-hour program. Families will experience the rich history of Cooks’ Cottage and learn the significance of this important heritage and cultural site.

After a brief introduction, kids will enjoy the following modules:

Module 1: Captain Cook’s treasure chest

This module encourages enquiry-based learning, stimulating discussion about artefacts connected to Captain Cook and an account of his first voyage to Australia.

Module 2: Travel back in time

Students explore Cooks’ Cottage and the garden to find answers related to various 18th century characters, concluding in a race with an old-fashioned twist.

Two identical 1h sessions will run on the day:

• 10.45am arrival, 12pm departure
• 1.15pm arrival, 2.30pm departure

Families are invited to continue the day by enjoying Outdor Adventure​​​​, a free scavenger hunt activity available from the Fitzroy Gardens Visitor Centre, which will take you to many of the garden’s attractions, such as the miniature Tudor village and playground.

Ticket are:

• Kids – $6.80
• Adults – $4.20 (limit one per family)
• Preschool-aged siblings- free (non-participating only)
