Children’s Week at the Portland Maritime Museum!
We are excited to announce that we have received a grant to run sessions at the Portland Maritime Museum to celebrate Children’s Week 2025.
Port in a Storm session encourages children to think about and discuss how local historical stories can inspire contemporary art. Children will learn the story of the Portland Lifeboat and how its crew rescued survivors from the Admella Shipwreck in 1859. After exploring the Admella Series, a set of prints depicting the story of the Portland Lifeboat and Admella, children will then have the opportunity to create their own artwork to take away with them.
