HEN offers a range of 45-minute first aid training sessions across Victoria for primary-aged children, facilitated by St John Ambulance and teaching the importance of First Aid and what to do in an event of an emergency.

One of these days includes:

Monday, 16th November: South Morang

Bookings close Friday 13th November

  • Venue: Riverside Community Centre, 8 Doreen Rogen Way
  • 4y-7y – Story Time: 11.45am arrival, 12pm start
  • 8y-10y – Anaphylaxis: 12.45m arrival, 1pm start
  • 10y+ – CPR: 1.45pm arrival, 2pm start

The knowledge and skills gained from the program will develop kids’ First Aid awareness, and contribute to building a more resilient community. Bringing to life the importance of First Aid and what to do in an emergency (including calling 000 and performing CPR), the interactive games, Storytime and Action Plan scenarios make the program more enjoyable than ever before. The learning is age-appropriate, with kids divided into three age groups, & taught a selected learning module.

Kids are encouraged to wear clothing suitable for floor work (e.g. pants or shorts), & should bring a pen / pencil & paper.

These sessions are provided for free by St John. A $5 booking fee per child per session covers venue hire, with any surplus funds donated to St John Ambulance. If a venue is hired for free, all attending families will be reimbursed in full.

This event is aimed at primary-aged children, however junior secondary-aged kids who have rudimentary first aid skills and knowledge are welcome to join as well.

Please note: only children participating in a session may be in the room during each session. Non-participating siblings (either booked in a different session, or not participating at all) cannot be in the room, & must be supervised by an adult they know & trust. Families can either bring two adults, or can team up with a friend coming to supervise all kids. A separate room will be available for kids to hang out in, & families are encouraged to bring books, board games or craft activities.
