The Home Education Network provides this list as a service to the community. Event listing does not imply endorsement by HEN.

Many of the events listed here are run by the Home Education Network, our members or other home educators. At these events, parents have full responsibility for the supervision and safety of their own children.

Some listings are from businesses who run classes/activities for home educators as a commercial enterprise. If leaving children at such an event, ensure it is a safe environment for your child and that facilitators have Working With Children Checks.

Home educators have widely differing needs and expectations. It is up to each family to decide which events are suitable for them.

HEN events are covered by our insurance and can be run by any HEN member. Attendee Guidelines can be read here and other guidelines can be found in the member area.

Event organisers: please check to see what else is on and avoid clashes wherever possible, this is especially important for camps. If your event would clash, please contact the other camp organiser to check whether they have reached minimum numbers before proceeding. It is our experience that clashing events compromise the numbers for both. Note that clashes of camps or large events may result in the second event not being covered by our insurance.

Organising an event? See our tips for help.

** Parents retain the responsibility for the education and supervision of their own children. HEN is committed to keeping children safe see our Statement of Commitment on Child Safety for details.

Insurance: HEN events can be covered by our insurance see here for details
