I am an experience teacher (over 20 years) who is seeking with keen interest to partner homeschool families to help their children in Primary English, Maths, Science and Humanities. I can also cover High School English and teach Mandarin (basic vocabulary and conversational).
Beside my home duties and commitment as a mum to 2 kids, I have volunteered, worked and taught at various education settings. Currently I teach at a local tuition center with individualised program, design and crafted in consultation with parents and students, aged from 6 to 18 years old. My lessons are tailor made to suit individual needs – targeted weak areas or accelerated learning.
I believe every child can learn (while experiencing the fun in learning) and my goal is to help students to aim high, discover new things and achieve a standard above their own expectations through my lessons and encouragement.
I am available to teach most weekdays, from 9am to 2pm.

Ben Grech – English Tutor
I’ve been working as a high school teacher for several years and have been tutoring since my undergrad. I’m also a published author and have undertaken several mentorships with award winning authors. I completed my masters in multiliteracies and student funded education. Both of these fields of education specialise in understanding the “life world” (the term given to mean the experiences and interests) of the student and then building off that to guide learning in real world, or simulated real world, creative outputs. I’m a teacher and I love teaching, but I did not enjoy school. What motivates me is helping students discover their own passion for reading on their own grounds. Multiliteracies suggests that students are inspired by and influenced by a multiple of sources and so their learning and their outcomes must be as diverse and as varied as these interests. I’m passionate about these teaching styles and believe I would be a strong asset to a home teaching environment, whether the students is trying to get VCE ready, or just trying to learn more about looking closely at novels or develop their creative writing. I’m available to take on students weekly, or for short term projects over the holidays.

I am a fully qualified teacher having completed a Bachelor of Business and a Graduate Diploma of Teaching, as well as a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA). Whilst teaching, I am also studying a Graduate Certificate of Education in Learning Difficulties.
My teaching experience of more than 10 years extends from teaching English in Japan, Japanese language in Australia, ESL at RMIT, teaching full time and as a casual relief teacher across schools in the Macedon Ranges.
Currently I am working as a tutor at the Blue Door Language Support Centre. I am registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and SPELD Victoria, and I am an accredited member of the Australian Tutoring Association.
I am passionate about helping students reach their learning potential. Having two children of my own, I understand that everyone learns in their own way and the importance of tailoring lessons to support each child.
