NDIS Sport Coaching 1 to 1

ABOUT: Hi, my name is Kristian. I am a fully registered and qualified Physical Education teacher with a Degree in Exercise Science. As a teacher and coach, I have worked alongside children of all ages ranging from preschool to teenage years.

I enjoy working with children and their families as they grow and achieve personalised goals. My holistic approach is informed by my knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, motor control, health, and my extensive classroom experience.
I work from a strengths-based framework in partnership with children and young adults who present with neurodevelopment differences, their families, and multi-disciplinary teams. What matters most to me is children having fun through physical activity. Children are much more likely to learn and reach their goals when they can be their authentic selves and enjoy what they are doing.

MISSION: To provide fun, active and client-centred support for individuals with special needs, their families, and carers.

I establish a strong working relationship with children and their families by first learning about the unique needs of each family and how we can work together to develop children’s confidence, fitness, strength and overall wellbeing. I incorporate play-based teaching models that focus on fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, emotion regulation and cognitive skills.
Each session is full of engagement, energy, passion, and flexibility. I offer sessions in homes or at local parks of your choice. I have a large variety of sporting equipment that is tailored to meet individual needs.

Dr. Sern Loong Timothy Tan (Hawthorn)

STEM / STEAM, Science and English small group and individual classes

Hi! My name is Tim and I’m a published researcher, former Marine Biologist and Editor of scientific journal manuscripts from researchers across the globe, and passionate educator with over a decade of teaching experience. I was also the former Head of Curriculum, VCE and English at an established tutoring organisation. I obtained a Bachelor of Science at The University of Melbourne in two years with several accolades before completing an Honours and Doctorate at the same institution.

I strongly believe that education is not supposed to be boring. Most students just think it is because it has been taught the same way for over a century. Real education is exciting, inspiring, and purposeful. I achieve this through interdisciplinary learning – rather than teaching ‘subjects’ in isolation, I believe children learn best when they appreciate the complexity of and connections between everything they learn. I also believe in the importance of teaching virtues over knowledge – discipline, creativity, integrity, compassion, and courage. Not only does this equip them for success in real life; it also makes learning fun and effortless – the way it should be.

I teach out of my office in Hawthorn, VIC 3122, and run both small group and individual classes, in person or online. My group classes are a maximum of 6 students each, and run for 2 hours a week, 9 weeks per term. There are two varieties:
the Learning Lab, which revolves around STEM / STEAM / Science projects, and
the Writing Room, which centres around the art of oral, written, and visual communication (English).
I also offer short-term or ongoing individual classes for students with specific needs, subject to availability.

If you’re interested in a complimentary trial session or would like to find out more, please find my contact details below. Thanks!

Lallo Yellow Literacy (North Fitzroy)

Providing evidence-based 1-1 reading lessons in North Fitzroy, and school holiday intensives.

We are a small team providing evidence-based individual tutoring sessions for children (especially targeting 5-10 year olds), with session plans based on the Science of Reading.

This format may be of interest to families who are doing home education, in order to outsource or reinforce/extend their literacy efforts. Lallo sessions are particularly helpful for parents who may be concerned that their child is not learning to read as easily as could be expected, or about the impact of lockdowns.

Literacy support can be provided for students with any types of difficulties – whether attentional, intellectual, motivational, neurodevelopmental, linguistic/cultural, emotional, or experiential (including poor instruction).

Many children are referred for 6-12 months of evidence-based structured explicit synthetic phonics intervention as part of the process of assessing whether they have a learning disorder in reading, and Lallo Yellow Literacy is well placed to assist these children.

For parents seeking to make the most of holidays to assist their child with literacy, Lallo is offering School Holiday Literacy Intensives – contact us for details.

All tutors at Lallo are trained Sounds Write* practitioners and have a Working With Children Check. Tutoring takes place at Lallo in North Fitzroy.

Bookings: Please call 0403286485 or email

Families that have NDIS for a reason other than Dyslexia (such as Autism Level 2) are welcome to contact us to discuss whether Lallo sessions might align with your goals for your child, such as accessing written communication, building future independence or employment prospects. Please contact us regarding fees, goals and let us know whether you are self-managed or plan managed.
