A hands-on, student-led class where maths and science are seamlessly integrated to show their real-world connections. Sessions include maths, a short break, then science—but the subjects often overlap for a holistic, applied learning experience.
Topics are tailored to student interests and may include:
Algebra: Discover how formulas work by experimenting with pendulums.
Trigonometry: Use the unit circle to draw sine waves and explore them in nature and biology.
Chemistry: Calculate atoms in real materials through measurement and formulas.
Biology: Analyse how your body breaks down starch and graph the results.
Physics: Model spacetime curvature to visualise gravity in action.
Every class reveals how maths enhances scientific understanding beyond the textbook.
Classes are taught using an unschooling methodology, where shaming, comparison, marks and coercion are avoided. Students can tune out according to their needs and there is no expected standard of prior knowledge. Nicole is very patient and holds a space that is safe for neurodivergent students.
