HEN webinar: Turtle Connections (all ages)

​Join us for this online event, hosted by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (“GBRMPA”).

Gain an understanding of the biology and adaptations of sea turtles, including their life cycles, breeding migrations, and feeding adaptations. Using case studies from the Reef HQ Aquarium Turtle Hospital, we will examine the impacts of marine debris, and look at how sea turtles are affected by other human threats worldwide and what actions are being taken to help protect sea turtle populations.

The webinar will cover:

• ​Brief overview of the Great Barrier Reef, home to six of the seven species of sea turtles found worldwide
• Sea turtle anatomy, diversity, feeding & adaptations
• Green sea turtle life cycle & breeding migrations
• Natural and human threats
• What is being done to help protect sea turtle populations? Actions we can all take to protect them

Webinar content will be aimed at upper primary to lower secondary school age (10y-14y), but is open to everyone, and kids of all ages will be able to enjoy.

During the session kids will be encouraged to interact through Polls, Reactions, Chat, and a Q&A channel.
