Based on his best-selling memoir Mao’s Lance Dancer, this work narrates with words & music the inspiring story of Li Cunxin’s childhood, & follows his subsequent journey to become one of the world’s greatest ballet dancers.
Katy Abbott, MSO Composer in Residence, will explore the themes of her work, illuminating demonstrations with the orchestra.
