The Tickle My Droid Program aims to foster students’ critical thinking skills (such as computational thinking and logical reasoning) as a means to understanding, communicating and solving a problem individually and collaboratively.
Students learn to control Sphero SPRK+ robots on Mars. They work in groups to analyse a problem, design a digital solution and evaluate their success.
They also learn skills in computational thinking without a device – consider activities such as moving across the room, cooking toast or tying up laces and without a device – challenge of coding a robot survey mission on Mars with increasing levels of difficulty using Sphero Edu (a computer language based on Scratch by MIT) and Sphero robots.
$13.20 per child
For students in Grade 5-6.
VSSEC welcome home educated students, but require us to follow the rules for school groups.
A very limited number of parents are able to attend on the day. You can offer to be one of the helpers, but should only purchase a tickets for students who are confident to attend unaccompanied. The 2-3 parents attending are expected to help/supervise like school teachers.
They do not have training or experience in dealing with health or behavioural issues, so please only purchase a ticket if you are confident that your child will not require more supervision/care than the average.

Please be sure to arrive at 9.15am. The day will start at 9.30am SHARP!
HEN events are all organised by volunteers, please be mindful of this when contacting the organiser and on the day of the event.
